How it works

From a dot on the map to trees in the ground

  1. 1

    Pick a point

Drop a pin, search an address or use GPS, then choose a radius from a single street to a whole district.

  2. 2

We read the satellite and the air

Sentinel-2 imagery at 10 m measures the living canopy inside your circle; CAMS delivers today's air quality. No surveys, no guesswork.

  3. 3

    We plant what's missing

Native saplings matched to your soil, planted and staked by our crews, with twelve months of care and a photo at every visit.

Frequently asked

Canopy and air quality, explained

How do I check the tree canopy of my area?+

Search your address or tap the map on Airleaf. We read live Sentinel-2 satellite imagery at 10 m resolution for the exact circle you select and return the tree canopy percentage, the estimated number of trees, and how many more would reach a healthy 30% canopy.

What is a healthy tree canopy percentage for a neighbourhood?+

30% canopy cover is the widely used benchmark for a healthy urban neighbourhood. Airleaf compares your area against that target and raises it where air quality is poor, because more polluted areas benefit from more tree cover.

How accurate is satellite tree canopy measurement?+

Vegetation cover is measured directly from 10 m Sentinel-2 imagery, so it is reliable. Separating tree canopy from grass uses an NDVI density proxy, which is an estimate — lush grass can read as canopy in wet seasons. Every result shows the scene ID, capture date and cloud-free percentage so the figure can be checked.

Is checking my air quality and tree cover free?+

Yes. Searching any location, seeing its canopy percentage, live US AQI and pollutant breakdown is completely free and needs no account.
